Purpose of Role


The Curriculum Manager role will be responsible for supporting the planning and resourcing of high-quality learning programmes for our non-Apprenticeship learners.


You will have experience of working within 16-18 provision and/or adult provision, and will understand what makes for an engaging and motivating learner journey. The ability to formulate a curriculum that can engage and develop learners, be followed by tutors and satisfy the requirement of the examining bodies is required. Main Job Tasks And Responsibilities Will Include


  • Responsibility for the design and implementation of the learner journey, including enrolment assessment (skills scans), course content, on programme assessments and external exam preparation.
  • Liaise with operational teams and quality teams to refine and improve the learner journey based on their feedback
  • Review success rates and learner leaving points and address weaknesses in course content
  • Work alongside subject experts to ensure curriculum content is accurate, relevant, engaging and up to date with latest specification changes.
  • Support with Ofsted, including active participation in Ofsted readiness and Ofsted inspections.
  • Responsibility for the online content of the curriculum, both in the hosting and use within the business
  • Review the suitability and effectiveness of the qualifications delivered within our Study Programme, Traineeship and AEB provision, making recommendations for new courses as and when funding changes occur, or when new courses become available.
  • Support with Sales teams where deeper knowledge on the learner journey is required, including employer presentations, tenders, mapping exercises etc.
  • Provide support for new programme and qualifications, and launches of these.
  • Be the ‘go to’ person for trainers / tutors who have questions about course content/assessment.


Standard Responsibility Requirements


  • Participate in the staff review process to include identification of own training needs.
  • Evidence own CPD and achievement using the Breathe HR system.
  • Take appropriate responsibility to ensure the health and safety of self and others.
  • Advance and integrate equality and diversity throughout all activities.
  • Comply with Skills Training UK policies and procedures.
  • Ensure and protect the safeguarding of and welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and follow the appropriate processes in place where concerns arise.


Education And Experience


  • Level 2 (e.g. GCSE or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths
  • PGCE/QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Relevant industry experience
  • High IT skills
