Content & Learning Team Manager, International Teaching and Learning Resources

Our International School Qualifications business supports schools, teachers, learners and their parents around the world throughout their entire school journey, from 3 to 19. Our vision is to be the partner of choice - helping every learner to achieve their full potential.

We are looking for a Content & Learning Team Manager for the entire International Curriculum list who has a passion for international education. You'll manage a team of six content and learning specialists (editors) in delivering innovative, high-quality and market-appropriate resources for International Schools and markets from authoring to publication.

You'll work with a wide range of stakeholders both internally at Pearson and with authors, editors and suppliers within the wider international education community.

Responsibilities Of This Role Include
  • Overseeing the workload and prioritisation of your team in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensuring your team have the necessary skills and motivation to meet business and personal development goals.
  • Ensure multi-component print and digital projects are managed effectively in order to produce high-quality educational resources on time and to budget.
  • Support the Senior Strategy Manager in identifying process and workflow improvements and in creating innovative and agile responses to project delivery needs, improving the editorial strategy for the whole team.
  • Maintain an overview of the plant budget, tracking spend vs forecasts and ensuring any significant deviation is remediated or escalated.
  • Support your team in project planning and project set-ups in order to build editorial budgets, schedules and resource plans as well as lead on more complex projects.
  • Work with appropriate stakeholders in sales and marketing, R&P, and digital platform teams to ensure business needs are effectively met.
  • Managing supplier relationships and supporting product management in effective budgeting and negotiation.
Key Accountabilities And Skills
  • Demonstrable experience and ability to take an editorial lead on complex projects, and in supporting editorial colleagues in an end-to-end publishing process.
  • Build, lead and develop teams to ensure a positive working culture, being a role model for behaviours that represent Pearson values.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and schedules effectively.
  • Directly manage your team to high performance and ensure staff have effectivedevelopment plans in place.
  • You will be able to effectively manage yourself and others across multiple complex projects with competing priorities.
Our Successful Candidate

We are interested in applicants with experience of delivering high-quality print and digital resources for learners from ages 3-19. You will have a demonstrable record of effectively managing resources to deliver on competing priorities and be able to effectively plan ahead, prioritise workload and monitor progress across a range of projects. You will have recommended effective solutions, where possible, to a variety of problems, such as resourcing or issues of quality, and will with have worked with varied stakeholders to implement these.

You may already be an experienced line manager or have extensive mentoring experience and be ready to take this next step, but you will be able to build, develop and motivate high performing teams through role modelling good behaviours and through providing pragmatic and demonstrable support.

Location

This role is aligned to either our Oxford or central London offices. It is a hybrid working position, and you will visit your base office no more than twice a week with the possibility of occasional travel to other Pearson sites. There is also the potential for international travel in this role.
