Casual Programme Leader Maths (22/529)

£19.62 per hour + £4.91 holiday pay - £21.78 per hour + £5.45 holiday pay

Hours are variable

Location: Scarborough

About the role

The Maths and English department are now looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic casual Programme Leader to join our well-established team. This is a fast-paced role, in which you will work closely with the rest of the team and the Head of area to deliver both GCSE and Functional Skills Maths. As a Programme Leader you will be responsible for teaching, learning, assessment, and planning. You will also, monitor attendance, punctuality, retention, and achievement, and intervene where support and improvements are needed for individual students. We have reasonable class sizes, supportive professional development opportunities and award-winning digital technology for learning.

About the person

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills with a focus on teaching, learning and assessment, as well as strong organisation skills and a positive, can-do attitude with a passion for the students and subject.

Candidates should also have:

  • Qualification to at least Level 5 in Mathematics and/or Numeracy
  • Teaching qualification (or agreement to achieve teaching qualification within two years)
  • Experience of teaching Maths or a related subject at some or all levels between Entry Level 1 and Level 2/GCSE
  • Suitable level of ICT literacy and willingness to develop further
  • Experience of course leadership and/or managing student attendance, punctuality, retention and outcomes
  • Excellent planning, delivery, assessment and support in and around lessons
