Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for dynamic and forward-thinking professionals from the Digital sector to join our Enterprise and Digital Industries Department.

We are looking for a highly driven specialist or Graduate that is confident in programming in Python, C, C+ . The applicant should have an eagerness to work as part of a collaborative department, participate in cross curriculum activities and liaise with colleagues from other departments. Experience of Unreal Engine is also desirable.

With state of the art ‘Digital’ industry standard suites and resources the successful applicant will have an opportunity to develop their passion for ‘Digital’ education and play a pivotal part in the continued development and delivery of the T level qualifications. Teaching is required for Level 3 students however you may be required to teach levels 1 - 4. Course Leader responsibilities are also likely.

Candidates are required to have pedagogic knowledge, experience, and a motivation for continuous professional development in their subject specialism and innovative teaching and learning practices. The post holder is required to have the knowledge, qualifications at degree level or equivalent.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience required

  • Level 3 qualification in the relevant area of expertise

  • Level 5 Teaching qualification (or commitment to achieving this in the required timeframe)

  • Relevant degree and/or appropriate level professional qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people at all ages and levels

  • Innovative and creative approach to work

  • Ability to set high expectations of themselves and students.

Experience in teaching and learning would be advantageous, although industry experience will be considered for those with the ambition of becoming an outstanding Lecturer. Fareham College will offer free teacher training to those wishing to enter the teaching profession (some terms and conditions apply).
