Department: Learning & Development

Band: 6

Hours: 37.5 per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working

The Learning & Development Department currently has an opening for an Apprenticeship Manager to join their busy, friendly team, with responsibility for leading and driving forward the national apprenticeship agenda.

The successful applicant will work in partnership with the Trust and its education and apprenticeship providers to achieve objectives in our workforce strategy, strengthening the development of our workforce through their further development. Through supporting school outreach and work experience placement programmes, the postholder will promote careers and apprenticeship opportunities at MKUH to build our future workforce.

You will be enthusiastic, organised, and driven, with sound project management skills and experience of working with education providers to improve and expand our apprenticeship provision. You will have an innovative approach to maximising the use of our apprenticeship levy and be able to provide support to our learners, ensuring they achieve their full potential. Experience of implementing the apprenticeship agenda and processes, as well as providing specialist advice, is key to this role.

You will have a sound knowledge of Microsoft applications, excellent communication skills, and the ability to communicate and establish good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. It would also be advantageous to have experience of school careers work.

The main function of this role will be to lead on and drive forward the implementation of the national apprenticeship agenda and achieve full usage of the associated levy within the Trust, working in partnership with Learning & Development, Divisional Teams, and Strategic Transformation Programme partners to support the development of the organisations’ workforce.

To be the apprenticeship expert, keeping up to date with national and local developments.

To be responsible for the further development of the school’s outreach and work experience programmes to promote careers and apprenticeships within the Trust.
