About The Product Development Division

The Product Development Division creates print and digital products and services to support teachers and learners in schools. Products and services for the UK market include curriculum courses, student textbooks, teaching guides, interactive digital activities, digital programmes, assessments, teacher professional development (PD) and more.

About The Advanced Content And Training Specialist Role

You will manage the content of products and training materials through the editorial and digital project stages: commissioning, development edit, copy edit, proofread, digital builds and releases. You may also support Product Managers on researching and proposing new product ideas.

You’ll work with a mix of internal and external people from different teams to ensure the content is created on time, to budget and meets our content and quality guidelines.

You will also manage the lead trainers (freelancers) and be involved in the recruitment of new trainers and the performance management of existing trainers (with support from the lead trainers).

You will report into a Senior Product Manager (or Head of) who is responsible for coming up with ideas for new products and services and managing them through the entire product life cycle.

Your Day-to-day Tasks May Include

  • Commissioning, briefing and managing writers, freelancers and external suppliers
  • Checking content against quality and accessibility standards and our Global Content and Editorial (DE&I) Policy
  • Briefing and testing digital functionality requirements
  • Solving problems/managing risks for your project areas of responsibility
  • Supporting Product Managers with market research/analysis and user testing
  • Creating and presenting proposals for products, including PD, on the roadmap (support and training provided as necessary)
  • Meeting with lead trainers to discuss feedback from events and any issues with trainer performance
  • Interviewing potential new trainers
  • Leading on cross-team projects, processes and meetings
  • Supporting/mentoring other team members who can learn from your strengths/experience
