Actual Annual Salary:  £36,567 - £39,013 based on hours and weeks worked.

Full Time Equivalent Salary: £39,649 - £42,301 (CLF Grade F) based on full time hours, all year round.

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week - Full Time, Term Time Only plus 5 insets + 3 weeks

Inspire, support, and empower. We're looking for an exceptional Pastoral Support Lead to champion student wellbeing, build a strong sense of community, and help every learner achieve their full potential.

The Pastoral Support Lead will lead pastoral support across a key group. You will create a sense of ‘identity and community’ and will provide a high level of care to all students by promoting wellbeing and attainment and providing support and challenge for pupils and their families.

You will work proactively and preventatively to ensure students are supported to achieve and progress in their education. The successful candidate will promote the highest standards of engagement, behaviour, conduct and attitudes in all students in the group, also monitoring and supporting academic and social development across the group, undertaking interventions where appropriate to support the most vulnerable learners.

You will have:

Qualification with behaviour and/or SEND element (e.g. NPSLBA) or other relevant qualification in behavioural support work and/or equivalent experience.
Advanced knowledge of safeguarding within an educational setting.
Knowledge of legislation, guidance, and relevant research which inform safeguarding practices, including low level concerns.
Knowledge and understanding of current issues relevant to Inclusion and Raising Achievement.
Knowledge of the academy’s legal responsibilities in monitoring attendance.
Child Protection and/or Advanced Safeguarding trained, or willingness to undertake training.
An appropriate First Aid qualification or willingness to undertake training.
Full driving licence and access to vehicle with business insurance.

About Winterstoke Hundred Academy:   

Winterstoke Hundred Academy is named after the historic parish of Weston-super-Mare and launched as a new 11-19 Academy in September 2020, admitting pupils for the first time in that year into Year 7 and Year 12. The academy is growing year by year, and we have been very pleased that our incoming cohorts in Year 7 have been oversubscribed in consecutive years, while our post-16 applications also show significant growth. We recently opened a state-of-the-art, net-zero building at Locking Parklands for Years 7-11, with post-16 education continuing at the original Beaufighter Road site.
