St Mary’s College is seeking to appoint a Lead Teacher of Engineering.

This is an exciting opportunity for a committed, enthusiastic and driven teacher to lead and deliver Engineering across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.

We are looking for a specialist with strong subject expertise who is an exceptional classroom practitioner, able to inspire curiosity, engage students in practical and theoretical learning, and cultivate a genuine enthusiasm for engineering and the wider STEM disciplines.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

Lead the planning, development and delivery of the Engineering curriculum at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5
Teach highly intentional lessons that engage, challenge and inspire students
Develop a coherent and ambitious curriculum that builds strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills
Monitor student progress and implement strategies to ensure excellent outcomes
Promote a passion for engineering and STEM across the school
Support students in progressing to further education, apprenticeships and careers in engineering
Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Hold excellent subject knowledge in Engineering or be willing to upskill quickly.
Be an exceptional classroom practitioner with a track record of strong student outcomes
Demonstrate the ability to engage and enthuse students about engineering
Have experience teaching Key Stage 4 and/or Key Stage 5
Be committed, enthusiastic and driven, with a passion for inspiring young people
Be keen to contribute to the continued success of a high-performing school and sixth form
