SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)

Contract Type: Full-Time
Salary: Competitive daily rate / MPS-UPS + SEN Allowance (dependent on experience)

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive school in Croydon for an experienced and dedicated SENCO to join their leadership team from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate SEND professional to make a significant impact on the educational outcomes and wellbeing of pupils with additional needs.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

Lead and manage the school's SEND provision.
Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and relevant statutory requirements.
Coordinate effective support and interventions for pupils with SEND.
Work closely with teaching staff, parents, external agencies, and senior leaders.
Monitor pupil progress and ensure appropriate support plans are implemented and reviewed.
Promote inclusive teaching practices across the school.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must:

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Hold the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or equivalent mandatory SENCO qualification.
Have previous experience working as a SENCO or within a SEND leadership role.
Demonstrate excellent knowledge of current SEND legislation and best practice.
Possess strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Be committed to achieving positive outcomes for all learners.
