We are recruiting for an experienced and driven 1st Team Strength & Conditioning Coach to support the delivery of elite physical performance services within a first team environment.

This role is being recruited in partnership with 292 Performance on behalf of Salford City. The successful candidate will be employed and managed directly by Salford, while working collaboratively with 292 Performance and the wider interdisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing athletes for the physical demands of elite competition through the delivery of high-quality gym and field-based performance programmes. The role requires an individual capable of balancing performance enhancement, player availability, and long-term physical development within the realities of a high-performance team sport environment.

Essential Skills and Experience

Degree in Sports Science, Strength & Conditioning, or related field. Accredited Strength & Conditioning qualification (UKSCA, NSCA CSCS, or equivalent). Experience working within elite or professional sport environments. Strong understanding of: Elite team sport physical preparationSpeed and power developmentTraining load managementRecovery strategiesReturn to performance principlesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to operate effectively within fast-paced interdisciplinary environments.

Desirable Skills

Experience working within elite football.Experience using GPS, athlete monitoring systems, and performance technology.Experience supporting return-to-play processes.Knowledge of periodisation and long-term athlete management within congested fixture schedules.
